Texas Murugan Temple invites all devotees to Thaipoosam Peace walk 2026. Thaipoosam events include Padayathirai(Peace Social Walk) followed by Milk Abhishekam for Vetri Vel. Special paal kudam/Kavadi procession at the temple followed by abhishekam & aarti. Please join and get the blessings from Lord Murugan on the auspicious day.

• Program Schedule:
  • Social Walk: 7 am to 2 pm
  • Devotional Music Concert: 2 pm to 3 pm
  • Paal Kudam/Kavadi/Abhishekam: 3:00pm – 6:00pm
• Proceeds from part of Annadhanam donation will be donated to local food bank
• Trail Safety Guidelines: To maintain safety, order, and respect for the community and public spaces, all participants must follow these rules:
  • Please walk in groups of 5 or less and 10ft gap between each group so there is no disturbance to the public for the use of the parks, trails, and sidewalks.
  • Dress for winter: Wear winter Jackets, Hood, shoes, cap etc.,
  • Practice safety: be aware of your surroundings; bring a buddy, plenty of water, & cell phone.
  • Public trails may be risky (slips, trips, falls, uneven ground, bad weather, other people, vehicles, and animals).
  • Follow instructions from park staff or police; do not enter private or restricted areas.
  • Only do peaceful community and devotional activities related to the Thaipoosam Peace Walk; do not do business activities, disturb others, or block roads, driveways, or entrances.
  • Be friendly & courteous – respect others and share the trail.
  • Walk on the right side of the trail – pass on the left.
  • Allow others to pass safely – no more than two (2) trail users side by side.
  • Warn people when you plan to pass.
  • Anticipate other trail users and avoid abrupt changes in the direction of travel.
  • Walkers yield to runners.
  • Earphones can hinder your ability to hear others trying to warn you; consider leaving your earphones at home or turning the volume down.
  • Please keep pets on a short leash & under control at all times.
  • Respect wildlife.
  • Leave natural items for others to enjoy; some items are protected & should not be disturbed or removed.
  • Leave no trace! Please pack out your trash & pet waste.
