Valarpirai Chaturthi – Ganesha Abhishekam

Friday (6:30 PM)
Texas Murugan Temple, Austin
The Texas Murugan Temple will be observing Valarpirai Chaturthi, an auspicious day dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the bestower of wisdom, success, and prosperity.
Valarpirai Chaturthi, which falls during the waxing phase of the moon, is considered especially favorable for new beginnings, education, career growth, and harmony in family life. Worshipping Lord Ganesha on this day is believed to eliminate hurdles and bring clarity, confidence, and positive energy.
The temple priests will perform a sacred Ganesha Abhishekam, offering milk, honey, turmeric water, sandalwood paste, rose water, and holy water, each symbolizing purity, strength, knowledge, and divine protection. The Abhishekam purifies the mind and invokes Lord Ganesha’s compassionate blessings upon devotees.
The rituals will be conducted according to traditional Vedic and Agamic practices, accompanied by the chanting of Ganesha mantras and modaka offerings. Devotees often experience a deep sense of reassurance, peace, and renewed faith after participating in this sacred worship.
All devotees are warmly invited to attend and seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings for success, wisdom, and obstacle-free progress in all aspects of life.
